We are very pleased to have two expert ophthalmologists on staff. Dr. Gary R. Fishman is a refractive specialist who performs LASIK and refractive cataract surgery. He also provides advanced eye care for patients dealing with: glaucoma; diabetic retinopathy; eye allergies; dry eyes; and ocular trauma. He also provides complete eye exams and accurate eyeglass prescriptions. Our other expert and highly trained ophthalmologist is Dr. Simon Wu. Dr. Wu has advanced training in corneal and refractive surgery. Our entire practice works to make sure that our patients are comfortably treated in our friendly and welcoming office. When you are looking for a top-notch eye doctor in the Bronx you can do no better than to be seen and treated by one of our expert ophthalmologists.
At our ophthalmologic practice you are able to receive many different treatment options ranging from a basic eye exam to laser cataract surgery. Many of our patients come in to see our eye doctor in the Bronx for LASIK surgery. This procedure helps reduce the patient’s dependency on eyeglasses or contact lenses. LASIK surgery is effective on patients who are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism. During this surgery the actual shape of the cornea is changed so that it can better reflect the light for the brain to receive an accurate image. Our eye doctor also performs photorefractive keratectomy, also known as PRK. PRK is an FDA approved procedure that can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism as well. Our eye doctor will be able to tell you which type of surgery will work best for you. If you have a problem with cataracts, our eye doctor is able to perform laser cataract surgeries so that your clouded lens can be removed and replaced with a clear, man-made lens. This operation is also performed with the laser while the patient is using only local anesthesia. If you would like to come to our practice and meet with one of our knowledgeable and compassionate ophthalmologists, contact us today.
